The Wall-Mounted Ceramic Pocket is the elegant answer to the question of where to put plants when horizontal surface space has run out. Designed to hang flat against any wall and hold small plants, herb cuttings, or short-stemmed flowers in its generous curved pocket, this piece combines the joy of living plants with the visual interest of ceramic art to create a wall feature that is simultaneously decorative and alive.
The pocket is formed from a single pressed slab of stoneware clay, shaped while soft over a mould and then refined by hand to ensure even wall thickness and a clean, smooth interior. The front face of the pocket is decorated with a simple incised botanical motif — a spray of leaves and seed heads rendered in a few confident, economical lines that give the piece character without becoming fussy. The back of the pocket is flat and has two keyhole-shaped mounting holes that allow it to be hung securely from two wall fixings.
The pocket holds sufficient volume for a small herb plant, a trailing succulent, or a few stems of cut flowers in a small water-filled vessel placed inside. The interior is glazed to make it watertight for the latter application. The exterior and front face are glazed in a soft sage green that complements both the organic nature of living plants and the natural materials — wood, linen, stone — that characterise contemporary interiors.
The pocket comes with fixing hardware and a mounting template to make installation simple and accurate. It is suitable for interior use only. A drainage hole is not provided — for plants, it is recommended to use a plastic liner that can be removed for watering.
