The Glossy Marble-Effect Milk Pitcher transforms a functional necessity into a moment of visual drama. Its surface is finished with a bespoke glaze technique that replicates the veining and tonal variation of natural marble — white and cream grounds threaded with grey and warm gold veins that flow organically across the surface of the pitcher in patterns that are different on every piece. The high-gloss finish gives these patterns a luminosity and depth that a matte finish could never achieve: the veins seem to be within the glaze rather than on its surface, creating the impression of looking into a polished stone rather than at a painted ceramic.
The form is clean and contemporary — a slightly tapered cylinder with a generously proportioned spout and a single loop handle that allows comfortable pouring with one hand. The spout is designed with a slight taper and upward curve that prevents dripping, a practical refinement that makes the pitcher genuinely satisfying to use rather than merely beautiful to look at. The pitcher holds 400ml — enough for four to six coffees with milk or a full pot of tea with a cream accompaniment.
The glaze is achieved through a layered application technique: a base glaze is applied, then thinned glaze of contrasting colours is applied with brushes and tools in the pattern of marble veining, then a clear high-gloss topcoat is applied and the whole piece is fired to unify the layers into a single, smooth, lustrous surface. Each pitcher is therefore genuinely unique in its surface pattern — the marble veining cannot be exactly reproduced.
The pitcher is dishwasher-safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve the intensity of the high-gloss finish over the longest possible time. It makes an exceptional centrepiece for a coffee station or a tea table.
